Synopsis:


Once again, J.A. Bayona demonstrates his sensitivity when it comes to approaching the fantastic genre with this adaptation of the acclaimed children’s novel by Patrick Ness, where a lonely boy befriends a benign, monstrous creature (with the voice of Liam Neeson), that visits him to tell him stories and keep him company while he faces his mother’s imminent death.

Juan Antonio Bayona

Barcelona, 1975. Backed by an impeccable career as a short film director and musical video maker, he debuted in feature length with The Orphanage (07). A resounding box-office hit, winner of seven Goya awards and with important international impact, The Orphanage would go on to make this filmmaker a key figure in new Spanish fantastic and horror cinema.
