The Japanese occupation of Korea seems to be one of this season’s star topics. Kim Jee-woon also ventures into this period, hand in hand with a Korean man working for the Japanese and who goes undercover in a rebel gang. But it won’t be long before doubts start to cloud our hero’s determination and jeopardize his mission, definitively unleashing this film with loads of espionage and action.
He worked in theater and made the big leap to cinema with The Quiet Family (98). A Sitges regular, he’s the creator of stimulating films like the spectacular The Good, the Bad, the Weird (08) or I Saw the Devil (10).
