Synopsis:


Guy Maddin picked up the María award in Sitges for best feature film thanks to this unclassifiable film that turned the pages written by Bram Stoker into an expressionist choreography that moves to the tune of music by Gustav Mahler. 

Director biography:


Guy Maddin

Winnipeg, Canada, 1956. A Sitges regular, he debuted in 1988 with Tales from the Gimli Hospital. Followed by, among others: Dracula: Pages from a Virgin’s Diary (best motion picture at Sitges 2002), Brand Upon the Brain! (2006) and My Winnipeg (2007).
