After an incident that sidelined him from the police force, Detective Takakura now enjoys his life as a professor. But an ex-colleague requests his assistance on a case, and Takakura finds himself drawn back into his old profession. While investigating a mysterious disappearance, his wife has to deal with a most creepy neighbor. He started off shooting in Super-8 at Rikkyo University. Among others, he’s directed fantastic genre masterpieces like Cure (97) or Pulse (01), a marvel of suspense like Charisma (99) and the family drama Tokyo Sonata (08). He received the Time Machine Award here in 2006.
