Synopsis:
The classic fantasy myths never die... and especially Dorian Gray, the handsome immortal frozen by a pictorial image with which he made a pact with the devil. Oliver Parker reinvents British gothic cinema with an approach to Wilde’s text capable of not irritating good culteranos (exponents of an elaborate 16th/17th century literary style) and of attracting new generations. To do so, Dorian face is now that of Ben Barnes, one of the latest teen idols, supported in classical poses and accents by the always illustrious Colin Firth and a rising Rebeca May who here forgets about her affairs with Woody Allen and the rest in Barcelona to get lost among the mists of a more genuine London.
