The Festival launches a networking tool for accredited professionals
The Filmarket Hub online platform and the Sitges Film Festival join forces to create the ‘Sitges Who is Who?’ online tool
Accredited professionals at the 48th Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia will be able to enjoy the brand new Sitges Who is Who?, on online networking tool allowing them to connect each other. This action is a part of the Filmarket Hub initiative that Sitges is launching this year in the hope that it will open the Festival up as a meeting point for the audiovisual industry, promote professional contacts, favor opportunities for talents and encourage business in the sector.
Sitges Who is Who? will become an instrument for professionals attending the Festival, allowing them to request and organize encounters and meetings among themselves. The tool is aimed at producers, directors, screenwriters and industry professionals attending the Festival and who wish to know what other professionals will be attending and which days, and it will offer them a chance to contact them through the Filmarket Hub online platform. Those interested must be accredited as professionals at the Sitges Film Festival, which will provide them with a special code. Afterwards, they will access a Filmarket Hub account and enter this in the “Accredited by Sitges” banner. Starting then, these users will have a “Fantàstic” profile, with which they will be able to use an exclusive search engine where they can filter the people and companies that will be attending the Festival by name, profession, city or dates they’ll be there. If they find someone they’re interesting in getting in touch with, the users can add them to their contact network or send them a message.
Sitges Who is Who? is a new collaboration between the Filmarket Hub platform and Sitges 2015. As a result of this collaboration between the two, the Sitges Pitchboxinitiative was born, offering genre feature film projects an opportunity to make a pitch to producers on 16 October in the Llevant Room. 170 projects have been registered on the platform for this first call.
