Presentation of the book "The Twilight Zone" at SITGES 2011

Scifiworld, in collaboration with SITGES - International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, presents the definitive book about the mythical series created by Rod Serling.

Who doesn´t remember William Shatner on board a plane being harassed in mid-flight by a strange creature that only he appears to see? Who didn’t feel shivers up and down their spine after discovering that the presumed aliens that were threatening the farmer played by Agnes Moorehead were really earthlings trying to survive on a planet of giants?

All these situations and many, so many more took place during the memorable five years that the “The Twilight Zone" was on the air, undoubtedly the most influential fantastic series ever broadcast on television.

"THE TWILIGHT ZONE" is the first book in Spanish that tells the story of this marvelous series in detail, including a biographical sketch of its creator and main writer, the legendary Rod Serling, as well as thorough information on other renowned  screenwriters that participated in it (Richard Matheson, Ray Bradbury, Charles Beaumont), its director (among them Jacques Tourneur, John Brahm, Mitchell Leisen and Richard Donner), the feature-length film "Twilight Zone: The Movie" (produced by Steven Spielberg and John Landis), the unpublished screenplays, the music from the series, the new versions made in the decade of the 80’s and the year 2000, its influence on the television and cinema that came after it, and its influence on popular culture.

"THE TWILIGHT ZONE" will be presented at the SITGES 2011 International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, on October 9th at 13:30 in the Tramuntana Room in the Sitges Forum zone. Attending the event will be its authors Jordi Ardid, Álex Barba, Tomás Fernández Valentí, Sergi Grau, Joan Renter and Lluís Vilanova.

The book can be purchased during SITGES 2011 and will hit bookstores starting October 17th.
