Cinergía is looking for a short film director for its second edition
Once again this year, Sitges will be one of the festivals presenting the premieres of short films from the Cinergía project, by Gas Natural Fenosa
The second edition of Cinergía, Gas Natural Fenosa’s project to familiarize the general public with energy efficiency through cinema, just launched the Cinergía Talent competition to select a short film screenplay from among film and audiovisual communication students. For this second edition, Gas Natural Fenosa will be collaborating with the El Terrat production company to produce four shorts, which will be premiering at the San Sebastian, Malaga and Sitges festivals.
This new edition of Cinergía will consist of producing three comedy shorts by directors Isabel Coixet, Santiago Segura and Paco León, and holding a competition among film students to discover a new young talent and produce a fourth short film. The winner of the competition will have the chance to produce and film the short with the support of Gas Natural Fenosa and El Terrat.
The short film must be a comedy based on energy efficiency, and have a runtime of less than 10 minutes. The deadline for sending projects is June 28th and all participants will also be included in a raffle to win a subscription to Filmin.
Last year, Cinergía presented horror and suspense shorts directed by Paco Plaza, Rodrigo Cortés, Jaume Balagueró and Juan Cruz. These pieces summed up almost eight million views on TV and Internet. The Sitges – International Fanstatic Film Festival of Catalonia held the premiere of the short 1:58, directed by Rodrigo Cortés and starring Manuela Vellés.
