In the Official Fantàstic Selection, with the SITGES hallmark, a prestigious international jury awards the following prizes:
Award for best motion picture
Award for best director
Award for best actor
Award for best actress
Award for best screenplay
Award for best cinematography
Award for best special effects
Grand Audience Award - Official Fantastic Selection
By popular vote, the audience will decide on the audience award for best fantastic genre feature film.
José Luis Guarne Award
Presented by the Associació Catalana de Crítics i Escriptors Cinematogràfics (Catalan Association of Film Critics and Writers) to the best feature film included in the Official Fantastic Selection.
Citizen Kane for best debut feature Award
Presented by the Associació Catalana de Crítics i Escriptors Cinematogràfics (Catalan Association of Film Critics and Writers) and all filmmakers presenting their debut film in the Festival’s Official Fantàstic Selection are eligible.
Noves Visions Award
Award for best feature length film
Grand Honorary Award - Sitges Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya
Màquina del Temps
Nosferatu
Focus Àsia
Films produced by Asian production companies included in any of the Festival’s categories, as long as their subject matter falls within the context of the popular genres (thriller, action, fantastic), are eligible for this award. Animation is excluded. All films must be previously unreleased in Spain.
Premi Méliès d'Argent
Awards given to the best European fantastic genre feature film and short film included in any of the Festival’s categories and according to the Selection Committee’s nomination. The winning feature film and short will be eligible to win the Méliès d’Or Awards, organized by the EFFFF (European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation).
Anima't Award
For best animated short film.
For best animated feature film.
Secció Oficial Fantàstic Panorama Award
Brigadoon - Paul Nasch Award
Best fantasy short film presented in this section.
Carnet Jove Award
A jury, made up of young men and women between the ages of 18 and 30, will present the award for best fantasy genre feature film.
Blood Window Award
All films produced by Latin American production companies included in any of the Festival’s categories, as long as their subject matter falls within the context of the fantastic genre, are eligible for this award.
