Alice Lowe
Alice Lowe (Coventry, United Kingdom, 1977) is an actress, screenwriter, and director, best known for her contributions to fantastic and horror cinema with a strong element of black comedy and social criticism. Educated at the University of Cambridge, she began her career in theater and television before making the big leap to film.
She gained international recognition as co-writer and star of Sightseers (2012), directed by Ben Wheatley, a macabre road movie with a dark sense of humor that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was also screened in Sitges. Her directorial debut arrived with Prevenge (2016), a horror comedy written and starring herself... while she was pregnant. The film was warmly received by critics and audiences at festivals such as the Sitges Film Festival, where it was also screened.
Her history with Sitges doesn't end here, as she returned in 2024 with Timestalker, a romantic comedy with time travel and touches of science fiction.
