Anna Biller
Biografia
Anna Biller is an American director, screenwriter, and designer who began her career with short films like A Visit from the Incubus (2001), a piece that already showed her interest in classic film and female imaginaries from a feminist perspective.
In 2007, she directed Viva, a reinterpretation of the melodramas and eroticism of the 1970s, which clearly demonstrated her obsession with visual detail and absolute control over all aspects of production.
Her breakthrough would arrive with The Love Witch (2016), a film presented at the Sitges Film Festival that made her a cult auteur thanks to its retro aesthetic and critical look at gender roles from within the fantastic genre.
