Annie Clark

Biografia

Clark, better known as St. Vincent, is a multifaceted artist who has successfully expanded her talent beyond music to venture into the world of genre filmmaking with a unique and daring gaze. Known for her sophisticated and unsettling musical style, she has transferred this sensibility to cinematic language, exploring the boundaries between identity, body, and perception.

Her first foray as a director was with The Birthday Party, a horror short film included in the anthology XX (2017), where she already demonstrated a taste for tension and black humor. She went on to co-write and star in The Nowhere Inn (2020), directed by Bill Benz. The film, which blends metafiction, psychological thriller, and criticism of celebrity culture, constantly plays with the blurred lines between reality and fiction, offering a disconcerting and original experience.
