Asia Argento
Born in Rome on September 20, 1975, Asia Argento is an Italian actress, director, and screenwriter, daughter of renowned horror film director Dario Argento and actress Daria Nicolodi. Raised in a cinematic environment from a young age, she made her acting debut at the age of nine. In addition to pursuing an international career as an actress, she has also trained as a director.
Asia Argento has been a key figure in genre filmmaking, especially as an actress. She had a prominent role in The Stendhal Syndrome (1996), a psychological thriller directed by Dario Argento, and in The Phantom of the Opera (1998), a gothic and stylized version of the classic by Gaston Leroux.
In 1998, she visited the Sitges Film Festival for the first time as the star of New Rose Hotel, and in 2019 she returned to receive the Méliès Award.
