Several changes were made to the event’s nomenclature: “week” was replaced by “festival” and the word “clavel” (carnation) was introduced into the award's title. The jury was made up of director Peter Fleischmann, actress Rina Ottolina, director Josep Maria Forn, and writer Jean-Claude Carrière. Among the distinguished guests in attendance were Buñuel's son and, in particular, Michel Piccoli.
