After terrifying Festival audiences with his films in previous years, this time Brazilian filmmaker José Mojica Marins came to Sitges in person, bringing two films with him: Delírios de um anormal and Estupro!. Dressed as the sinister Zé do Caixão, he stirred up quite a scene in the Blanca Subur. The cycle dedicated to Spanish fantastic cinema, featuring works from the 1920s as well as more recent titles, marked an initial attempt to bring some structure to the history of Fantaterror.
