And a new icon was born: Paul Verhoeven and his Robocop were a smash hit. Another major sensation was the Hong Kong film A Chinese Ghost Story. And three genuine maestros paid a visit to the Festival: Richard Fleischer, Robert Wise, and screenwriter Curt Siodmak.
