Members from the cast and crew of The Day of the Beast came to accompany the film. Other big-name special guests included Édith Scob, Christopher Lambert, Gregg Araki, Iván Zulueta, Robert Wise, Youssef Chahine, Lucio Fulci, and Todd Haynes. The spotlight was stolen by Mouth to Mouth, the film directed by Manuel Gómez Pereira and presented in Sitges by Joaquín Oristrell, Javier Bardem, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Fernando Guillén, and Josep Maria Flotats, among others. However, Óscar Aibar's cult film Atolladero would also go down in Festival history. An outstanding round-table discussion was held with FX wizards Henri Alekan, Ray Harryhausen and Carlo Rambaldi.
