George Lucas received the honorary La General award, which was accepted on his behalf by the Director of Content and Fan Relations at Lucasfilm Ltd. On the official jury, three internationally renowned names stood out: Ken Foree, star of Dawn of the Dead; Christopher Priest, a writer specializing in fantasy and science fiction; and Marco Müller, who at the time was director of the Venice Film Festival. Among the notable attendees: John Landis, Paul Naschy, Joel Schumacher, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Corey Feldman, Juanma Bajo Ulloa, Romain Duris, Gerard Butler, Minnie Driver, and Patrick Wilson.
