We opened the Festival with Julia Ducournau and her Alpha, and closed it with The Long Walk, a new Stephen King adaptation by the undisputed master of horror literature. The big winner of last year's edition was The Ugly Stepsister by Emilie Blichfeldt, a feminist take on Cinderella with heavy doses of body horror. Movie theaters also created a huge buzz with gems like Obsession, Gaua, and The Furious. In addition, names including Carmen Maura, Gale Anne Hurd, Benedict Cumberbatch, Terry Gilliam, and Joe Dante were added to our list of illustrious honorary award recipients, the latter two also serving as godfathers of an edition whose leitmotif was humor in horror films.
