A springboard for emerging young talent. That's how this year's Blood Red Carpet, promoted by Cupra, defines itself, as a platform for actresses and actors who have recently achieved both domestic and international recognition in the audiovisual industry.

Who are the faces of genre cinema in the years to come? Almudena Amor, Ivana Baquero, Marina Comas, José Pastor, Eric Masip, and Tamar Novas will walk the Festival's bloodiest red carpet on Friday, October 17, at 6:45 p.m. at the entrance to the Hotel Meliá in Sitges.

And so, we dedicate the 11th edition of the Blood Red Carpet, born in 2015, to promoting acting talent in both domestic and Latin American productions. The Grandmother, Sister Death, and The Good Boss wouldn't be the same without Almudena Amor in their casts. In 2025, Amor took part in the Australian production Smashing, directed by Juliet Darling. The same is true of Ivana Baquero, the actress who stole our hearts in the timeless Pan's Labyrinth and who proved her talent in front of the camera in the commendable Sister of Mine. This year, Baquero has released the intriguing crime thriller A Widow's Game.

We would also like to highlight the rising career of Marina Comas, the great revelation in the impressive and award-winning Black Bread, who has also stood out for her remarkable performances in films such as The Wild Ones and Terra Baixa, and the popular series The Red Band Society. What are her future projects? Comas is a talent to be followed very closely. The same can be said of Tamar Novas, who won the Goya for Best Breakout Actor in 2005 for his work in Alejandro Amenábar's The Sea Inside. Since then, he has expanded his filmography by working alongside essential figures such as Pedro Almodóvar, Julio Medem, Los Javis, and Isabel Coixet.

Meanwhile, actors José Pastor and Eric Masip also boast an impressive filmography. The former, after successfully tackling the difficult challenge of playing Miguel Bosé for television, surprised us with his ability to instill fear in Carlota Pereda's exceptional Piggy, one of the most important films in contemporary Spanish horror. Recently, Pastor has starred in the intriguing Spanish series El Marqués. The latter has gained experience as a supporting actor in various series, navigating between comedy, romantic drama, and marine adventures, as in the case of the series with fantastic touches, Punto Nemo, generating great expectations for his next work on the big screen coming from Prime Video with Álex de la Iglesia and Carolina Bang serving as producers: Marfil, directed by Óscar Pedraza, which will be released in 2026.

The program includes a panel discussion open to fans and professionals entitled Blood Red Carpet Goes to Hollywood, which will analyze the challenges faced by performers in their international presence. In this regard, the event will bring together casting director Luci Lennox, who will be moderating the event, as well as international talent agents Houston Costa (UTA)Nick Ogiony (CAA), and Marc Mounier (Management 360). The session will be held on October 16th, starting at 4:15 p.m., in the Garbí 2 Room at the Meliá Sitges Hotel.

Through the new edition of the Blood Red Carpet, SITGES – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia reinforces its commitment to a roster of young rising stars through an event conceived and designed to recognize the talent of the new generation and to showcase their filmography on a global scale.
