Encounter - Dominique Pinon

Sitges Encounters features talks with leading figures in genre filmmaking participating in this year's edition of the Festival.

In 1983, Dominique Pinon was nominated for the César Award for Most Promising Actor for The Return of Martin Guerre before beginning a close collaboration with director Jean-Pierre Jeunet, appearing in several of his films, including Delicatessen (1991), Alien: Resurrection (1997), and Amélie (2001). With over 100 films and short films to his name, as well as numerous television roles (Au siècle de Maupassant: Contes et nouvelles du XIXe siècle, Colère, among others), Dominique Pinon has shared the screen with the likes of Maggie Smith, Sigourney Weaver, Winona Ryder, Gaspard Ulliel, and Audrey Tautou.  

in 2007, he starred in Roman de Gare by Claude Lelouch. In 2010 and 2011, he starred in two feature films: Holidays by the Sea, a comedy by Pascal Rabaté, and Crédit pour tous, directed by Jean-Pierre Mocky. More recently, he received eight awards for his performance in La Dormeuse Duval, including Best Actor at the Los Angeles Film Festival. He was also seen in Edmond by Alexis Michalik and Based on a True Story by Roman Polanski. On television, he gained international recognition as the fan-favorite character "Master Raymond" in the acclaimed series Outlander (2016).

He has also appeared in more than 40 stage productions, earning him the Molière Award for Best Actor in 2004 for his role in Winter Under the Table
