Synopsis

Family drama and science fiction intertwine in this unusual work with high sexual voltage, which shows how an unhappy married couple winds up definitively turned upside down following an encounter with a mysterious creature with tentacles. With this surprising turn towards the fantastic genre, Amat Escalante astounded the Venice and Toronto festivals.

Amat Escalante

Mexico, 1979. He debuted in 2004 with the short film Amarrados and that same year he participated as assistant director in Batalla en el Cielo by Carlos Reygadas. His first feature film, Sangre (05), became a cult film. Los Bastardos is his second film.
