Synopsis

Brian lives isolated from the world in a valley in Wales where he invents bizarre gadgets that almost never work. After finding a discarded mannequin head, he comes up with an idea to combat his loneliness. Three days later, using a washing machine and assorted spare parts, he creates Charles, an intelligent robot who learns English from a dictionary and turns out to be a charming and sassy companion.

He debuted with the short film Intervention (2014). In 2017 he won the gold medal at the Young Director Awards in Cannes for Brian and Charles, a short that has now been made into a feature film.
