Synopsis

Josie's life changes when mental illness drives him away from his daily routine in the city and leads him to wander through the interior of the Queensland rainforest. Filmed on Super-8, this surreal and unsettling journey into hell shifts organically from black comedy to body horror. Winner of the Award for Best Feature Film at last year's edition of SXSW Sydney, it could be considered the Australian version of I Saw the TV Glow.

Director

Adam C. Briggs & Sam Dixon

Briggs is an independent screenwriter and director interested in docufiction, auteur cinema, and genre films. Dixon's horror short films have been screened at several international festivals. A Grand Mockery is their first joint project.
