Synopsis

A cosmic animator is forced by the Central Committee to make a philosophical film under the watchful eye of Chairman Mao. But right from the start, the dictator is displeased and sentences everyone involved in the film to death. However, Comrade Monkey and the good old Sun Wukong won't allow it. A gem in cut-out animation (using pieces that have been cut out to create images or characters), it was a big hit at both the Rotterdam and Annecy festivals.
