Joel reluctantly returns to his childhood home to help his mother Monika, who has suffered a severe brain hemorrhage that left her clinically dead for several minutes. Once she recovers, she doesn't seem like herself anymore. Joel is convinced that she has been possessed by something from the other side. Monika, now suffering from dementia, will begin to have strange visions from a dark past.
