Synopsis

When Mary Stevens, a young Māori teacher from Aotearoa, travels from New Zealand to a county in England back in 1859, she discovers her terrible colonial heritage and is forced to confront the people who did away with her family. And she'll do it in a fierce struggle to reclaim her identity and indigenous culture, one which will gradually turn into bloody and grotesque revenge. Victorian horror in opposition to imperialism.
