Synopsis
Joan Huang, a Chinese-American teenager from southern United States, struggles through culture shock and a desperate need to fit in. Obsessed with being popular and becoming the prom queen, she undergoes racial modification surgery to literally become white. A satirical and unapologetic thriller that navigates between Mean Girls and The Substance, it won the Narrative Feature Award at the most recent edition of SXSW in Austin.
