The lead-up to the 56th edition of the SITGES - International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia brings excellent news from the box offices: in the two days of pre-sales and general open sales, a total of 49,196 tickets were sold.

During the 24-hour pre-sale (with access only to pack and pass buyers) a total of 34,392 tickets were exchanged and/or sold.

During the first day of general open sales, a total of 14,804 tickets were exchanged and/or sold.

Consequently, between September 20th and 21st, the total amounted to 49,196, an increase of more than 10,000 ticket sales compared to last year.

As expected, the new films by Hayao Miyazaki ('THE BOY AND THE HERON'), Yorgos Lanthimos ('POOR THINGS'), J.A. Bayona ('SOCIETY OF THE SNOW'), Carlota Pereda ('LA ERMITA') and Pablo Berger ('ROBOT DREAMS') were the big sellers.

But in addition, we also had pleasant surprises such as the very good overall results in the Noves Visions and Panorama sections, which have significantly increased their sales, and especially, the frenzy unleashed by films including Jason Yu's 'SLEEP', Um Tae-hwa's 'CONCRETE UTOPIA', Takashi Miike's 'LUMBERJACK THE MONSTER', Weston Razooli's 'RIDDLE OF FIRE' or Cameron and Colin Cairnes' 'LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL'.

On behalf of the entire Festival team, we would like to ecstatically thank all the fans who make this Festival the most fantastic one in the world.
