Sitges Encounters includes talks with the great figures of genre cinema participating in this edition of the festival.
Alexandre Aja will receive the Time Machine Award 2024. He is a leading figure in the New French Extremity movement and debuted in 1999 with the dystopian film Furia. After the success of his second film, High Tension (which won the awards for Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Makeup at the 2003 Sitges Film Festival), he made the big leap to Hollywood, where he directed The Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors, and more recently, Crawl. He has directed renowned performers including Marion Cotillard, Daniel Radcliffe, and Halle Berry, among others. He also co-wrote P2 and the remake of Maniac. Never Let Go is his most recent film as a director.
