Fred Dekker will receive the Time Machine Award 2024. Dekker is known for writing and directing two masterpieces like Night of the Creeps and The Monster Squad, whose hybridization of classic monster movies, science fiction and slapstick humor has earned him a legion of fans. In addition to conceiving the original story of House, he is also responsible for Robocop 3, which he co-scripted based on a storyline by the legendary Frank Miller, and for the screenplay of four episodes of Tales from the Crypt. In 2018 he joined forces again with his regular collaborator Shane Black on The Predator.
