Panel - Sustainable Filming Workshop: Cinema with commitment. Producing in green is possible

At the event, which will combine both theory and practice, we will explain how to create a production design that is sustainable and economically profitable. The event will be divided into four phases: a theoretical introduction to sustainability, the application of sustainability concepts in audiovisual production, a roundtable discussion featuring successful case studies, and participatory activities.

First Block
Theoretical introduction to sustainability. Presented by Sandra Magro, co-founder of Mrs. Greenfilm.
What is the role of citizens, businesses, and, more specifically, the audiovisual production sector in addressing issues such as climate change or poverty reduction? Through the history of international agreements and the most significant data on human impact on our planet, we will explain the concept of sustainability in the current context.

Second Block
Application of sustainability concepts in audiovisual production. With Carlota Guerrero, head of the Catalonia Film Commission, and Laia Sanahuja, head of the Environmental Sustainability Plan at ICEC.

We will explain how to integrate environmental impact reduction procedures and measurement in an audiovisual production. We will review national subsidies and focus on understanding how to apply the recommendations from the “Guide for the Incorporation of Sustainability Criteria in Filmings and Shoots” (CFC) in productions that apply for ICEC grants.

Third Block
Roundtable discussion with successful case studies If I can be more sustainable, so can you. Moderated by Sandra Magro, featuring Asia Jarzyne, Founder and CEO of Willco, Oliver Lupiáñez, CEO of K is for Knowledge and Natàlia Ejarque, Audiovisual Producer and Eco Assistant.

We will share with a group of experts experiences and practical examples of sustainable audiovisual productions.

Fourth Block
Participatory dynamics: How, when, and where to include and communicate sustainability measures. Led by Sandra Magro, co-founder of Mrs. Greenfilm.

A participatory practice to help attendees build a sustainable production, taking into account the different stages of the project—development, pre-production, shooting, post-production, and distribution—and the tasks to consider at each stage.

The conceptualization of the program has been carried out in collaboration with the association Another Way, a sustainable film festival that also offers a training program, and with Mrs. Greenfilm, specialists in designing environmental sustainability workshops for the audiovisual sector.
