Panel - French delights: terror, extremism and cruelty

Five masters of contemporary French horror cinema—Christophe Gans, Alexandre Bustillo, Alexandre Aja, Fabrice Du Welz and Julien Maury—will explore the unique way in which French horror cinema has challenged and redefined the genre in recent decades. Together, we will examine how and why French horror cinema has experienced a remarkable resurgence since the 2000s, with a special focus on the subgenre known as New French Extremity, recognized for its visceral, transgressive, and often shocking content.
