Round Table - Gora Gure Folk Horror (Long Live our Folk Horror!)
Reclamation and imaginary of Folk Horror and Iberian mythological fantasy and presentation of the book “IRATI: The art of the film” by Paul Urkijo.
Fairies, witches, mermaids, lamias, giants, dwarfs, forest beings, and all those creatures forged over the centuries by literature and revived by world cinema have always served as a source of inspiration. These traditions, which contrast modern man and urban life with basic instincts and rural society, have led to classics like The Wicker Man. Within Spanish cinema, this subgenre has also found fertile ground with titles such as Akelarre and El bosque del lobo (both by Pedro Olea). The baton is taken up by directors like Paul Urkijo, who will present Irati. El libro de arte de la película during the session.
