Round Table - Josefina Molina Award, They Write, They direct: New Female Talents in Fantastic Cinema

The 58th Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia will host the announcement of the winner of the 1st Josefina Molina Award for Feature-Length Fantastic Screenplay by a Female Author (2025), an initiative organized by the SGAE Foundation and the Sitges Festival, in collaboration with WomanInFan.

This award, endowed with €10,000, seeks to promote the presence of new female voices in the field of fantastic cinema and to recognize the quality and originality of their screenplays. During the Festival, in a public event that will also serve as a tribute to Molina and to all women who write and direct within the fantastic genre, the winner of this first edition will be presented.

Participants: Ángel Sala, artistic director of SIFFFC, Mònica Garcia i Massagué, General Manager of the SIFFFC Foundation; Inés París, Vice President of the SGAE; and the winner of the 1st Josefina Molina Award for Feature Film Screenwriting in Female Authorship 2025.
