Only God Forgives

de Nicolas Winding Refn

Winding Refn took Drive and removed any trace of romanticism from it. The result is Only God Forgives, a film full of fierce violence and stylized images. Billy, an American criminal, dies in Bangkok. His brother and his mother set out to avenge him. Bloody, ironic and tremendously beautiful: a weighty Winding Refn, with echoes of Gaspar Noé and starring a Ryan Gosling definitively transformed into an icon.
