Michel has decided to quit smoking, but that won’t stop him from dying. And he knows it. It’s inevitable. Besides, it’s all his possessive mother’s fault, because the day she gave him life she also gave him death. A total hypochondriac, Michel’s hair starts to fall out and there’s a lump growing in his chest. Shot in black and white, this rarity by Belgian Xavier Seron shares its freak universe with Jaco Van Dormael’s cinema.
He graduated from the Institut des Arts de Diffusion with the short film Rien d’insoluble (05) and since then he’s made other shorts and documentaries. Death by Death is his fiction feature debut.
