Hasan is a down on his luck filmmaker: the government has blacklisted him, his muse is considering going to work for other directors, his wife’s been flirting with another guy and, to make things worse, a serial killer is bumping off the most important filmmakers in Iran except for him. Mani Haghighi, who put his insatiable imagination to the test in A Dragon Arrives!, delights us with this black comedy about cinema itself and the trouble our ego gets us into.
He studied philosophy in Montreal and returned to Teheran to work in film. An associate of Asghar Farhadi, he’s directed films like Men at Work (06), Modest Reception (12) and A Dragon Arrives! (16).
