Synopsis

Seoul, 1993. A former officer is hired by the South Korea secret service with the code name "Black Venus". His objective: to infiltrate the North, win the confidence of its leaders and find out everything he can about their nuclear program. Far from the bombastic action of some spy movies, The Spy Gone North latches onto realism to venture into the tense relationship between the two Koreas.

Busan, 1979. With a degree in film from the University of Chung-Ang, he is considered one of Korea’s most promising filmmakers. He directed The Unforgiven (05), Beastie Boys (08) and Nameless Gangster (12).
