Synopsis

After shooting a milestone in modern horror like The Witch, Robert Eggers takes us to a remote New England island during the last few years of the 19th century. There we find two lighthouse keepers: one is young and inexperienced, and the other, seasoned and a drunk. Played by Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe, the two men will venture into a hallucinatory existence, filmed by Eggers in a hypnotic black and white.

Born in New England and residing in Brooklyn, he began his career in theater, where he directed several classic plays. His career as a short filmmaker and as an art director led to his feature film debut, The Witch.
