7th edition

The big news this year was aesthetic: men were required to wear ties at evening screenings. The film that opened the Festival was Barbarella, which arrived several years late due to censorship. The Festival also  returned to its original headquarters, the Casino Prado, which joined the Retiro as a screening venue. The first press conference in the Festival's history was given by Paul Naschy. The second, by Jorge Grau.
