A screenwriter and his wife go to Cinecittà, in Rome, with the assignment of rewriting a script based on The Odyssey, which will be filmed by Fritz Lang. During their idyllic stay there, a misunderstanding triggers an argument between the couple, which escalates into a seemingly irreparable crisis. Will their esteem be stronger than their contempt?
