Popular wisdom has it that years ago, nature thrived in harmony around Lake Patzcuaro and its islands, until evil arrived. Men, blinded by dark desires, brought fear, hatred and death. The fishermen call her 'La Miringua', the one who drags you down and drowns you in the lake for your sins. A dark reimagining of a legend from the rural folklore of the Mexican state of Michoacán.
