Come and experience the magic of optical effects!

The Museums of Sitges and in collaboration with the Sitges-International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia have prepared a family workshop on the fantastic genre, specifically on the visual magic of optical effects. Girls and boys will be able to create their own zoetrope from an animation inspired by the festival's logo, the emblematic image of the gorilla King Kong.

The zoetrope is a toy invented in 1834 by the English mathematician William George Horner that reproduces the illusion of cyclical movement. The piece is made up of a circular drum and a strip with images with cyclical movement. When the drum is turned, looking through the holes, the illusion of movement is reproduced.

The workshop will take place on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the Rocamora Room of the Maricel Museum (C/ Fonollar s/n).
