Adrian Brody and Sarah Polley are two scientists who create a new hybrid breed, harmless at first, but that soon develops predatory and even sexual characteristics. An atypical monster movie, with details from Mimic (Guillermo del Toro backs the film) or Species, but that is surprising thanks to the excellent use of special effects and the plot’s unexpected ramifications. Vincenzo Natali

A Canadian filmmaker, with Cube (07), his debut movie, he won innumerable awards, among them the award for best feature film at Sitges’98 and the Silver Méliès in Brussels. He continued his career with Cypher (02) and Nothing (03). He also directed a segment of the group film Paris, j’ai t’aime (06).
