White Lightnin'

de Dominic Murphy

Synopsis

This is the story of Jesco White, “the Dancing Outlaw”, the last Appalachian mountain dancer. Addicted to sniffing gasoline and locked up in a reform school when just a kid, in love with a woman who’s twice his age and his size as an adult, Jesco finds refuge in dancing to escape from the devil flowing through his veins. Before murdered at the hands of two savages, his father teaches him to move about the stage like a tap dancer; however, Jesco never gives up his bloodiest, most lunatic facet. Filmed with a grayish texture, White Lightnin’ oozes Unites States all throughout: from its folklore to its violence.
