Les derniers jours du monde

de Jean-Marie & Arnaud Larrieu

The end of the world is approaching. Amidst the chaos, Robinson Laborde sets out to find a young woman he’d had a torrid romance with and who’d put an end to his marriage. Filmed halfway between France and Spain, Les Derniers Jours du Monde combines an apocalyptic setting with vacation time realism, agents dressed in fluorescent yellow overalls with a bullfight. Mathieu Amalric wanders through this scenario and, with every step he takes, a new romantic encounter arises. In this movie with apocalyptic overtones, the Larrieu brothers recapture the sexual licentiousness and humor of To Paint or Make Love.
