The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus

de Terry Gilliam

There is no  one in cinema with an imagination like Terry Gilliam’s. The director of Brazil now delves into the story of Dr. Parnassus, owner of a magic show who must settle up with the devil after selling him his soul. This moral tale is set between two worlds: that of Parnassus’ troupe and a parallel universe, created through animation. For his work to take shape, Gilliam had to get around one obstacle: Heath Ledger’s death in mid-production. A tragic setback resolved, of course, with imagination: a narrative twist where Law, Depp and Farell play the ill-fated Ledger.
