Stake Land
de Jim Mickle
Synopsis
If Jim Mickle already showed us his ability to create oppressive, dirty, unhealthy atmospheres in Mulberry Street (presented at Sitges'07), in Stake Land he shows us his ability to tell a horror story in open spaces and in an almost naturalistic way. Stake Land joins in the renovated vampire craze with a cross between I am Legend and The Road, where the survivors of a bacteriological catastrophe travel around a devastated United States, forced to face not only terrible nighttime creatures, but also humans who've become salvage religious fundamentalists.
Director
Jim Mickle

A New York Tisch School of Arts graduate, he worked in film and advertising doing all sorts of jobs before debuting with Mulberry Street (06). In Sitges he’s presented both Stake Land (10) and We Are What We Are (13).
