The Other Side Of Sleep

de Rebecca Daly

Arlene’s life goes by peacefully and on her own, working at a factory in a small town in the heart of rural Ireland. But hidden behind this apparently insipid existence is a trauma: when Arlene was just a baby, her mother was brutally murdered and since then, the girl has developed chronic insomnia that causes her to wake up at night in the middle of nowhere. When another woman dies in circumstances that are very similar to the way her mother died, all of Arlene’s ghosts will resurface again. More than a rural thriller, The Other Side of Sleep is a disturbing and atmospheric meditation on the feeling of loss with skin-deep sensitivity.
